Genesis 29:30

Genesis 2930

Jacob lay with Rachel also, and he loved Rachel more than Leah. And he worked for Laban another seven years.

So here we have so more of the Old Testament wackiness. As in Jacob worked seven years, after marrying Leah, to get the chance to marry Rachel.

And then Laban keeps his word, and Jacob marries and then sleeps with Rachel.

Not long after, I assume,  he has slept with Rachel's sister, (and his wife of seven years) Leah.

That little bit of activity makes me think of a famous Biblical term. "EEEEUUUUOOOHHHHHH."

Loosely translated, "EEEEUUUUOOOHHHHHH" means "that thing that Jacob did, sleeping with two sisters is U-G-L-Y He ain;t got no alibi. It's ugly. Nasty. Ugly."

And yet, was at some level, an OK thing in the olden days of the Bible.

This is just a bit weird to me. How can things that are against God's law and commandments now be OK back then?

Was it OK? am i missing something?
