Genesis 21:22
I have friends and co-workers who tell me things periodically.
Things that often are very encouraging.
Things like, "Hey good job on the presentation," or "Your kids are great" or "My kids read your book at bedtime" or "I like that yellow shirt."
Really cool, really encouraging things.
But never, ever have I had a friend tell me what the guys hanging out with Abraham told him.
"God is with you in everything you do."
Not "Abraham, you are so awesome because you went to church three times last week" or "I heard you support 100 orphan kids in Lithubanistan" or "please recite the 47 chapters of Exodus that you have memorized."
It was nothing about doing.
It was all about being.
All about being close to God.
I want to be there.
At the place where Abraham was.
Close enough to God that He was in everything Abraham did.
